‘He Got A Mixture Of Giannis And Durant In His Game’, Says Former Coach On Evan Mobley

2020 No. 1 Recruit Evan Mobley is yet to play at a collegiate level and he’s already drawing some huge comparisons. Set to attend USC, Mobley is seen as a hybrid of great players from the current and old NBA. For instance, his AAU coach believes nothing won’t stop this kid once he gets bigger and stronger.

“I’ve called him a generational talent, and here’s why,” Etop Udo-Ema told The Undefeated. “He’s got a mixture of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant in his game, and he’s a great defensive player who can change the course of any game. I’ve been coaching for 30 years and I’ve seen pretty much every top player that has been through Southern California, and if he develops, he can be better than any of them.

“Once he gets bigger and stronger, there is no ceiling for this kid.”

Udo-Ema believes Mobley has everything to become whoever he wants to be. He has the height, but he can also handle the ball and pass it without any complication. We only have to wait and see what is going to happen with this kid once he made it to the big leagues.

“We’re well beyond the days where guys play just in the post,” Udo-Ema said. “At Rancho this year, he’s starting to become the point guard when he get rebounds and people are seeing that he can handle and pass. I think Evan can morph into whatever he needs to be, whether it’s Kevin Durant or Kevin Garnett.”

The future is bright for this young man and he’s already being compared to the greatest players of our times.
