Bradley Beal After Watching The Last Dance: ‘Damn, I Feel Like Michael Jordan Sometimes’

2 Min Read

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal says he can see the similarities between him and Michael Jordan and their jobs of carrying a team. It’s not like Beal is taking the Wizards to win multiple titles as Jordan did with the Bulls, but he explained what is like playing without your biggest partner, just like Jordan did when Scottie Pippen was out.

Beal joined ‘All the Smoke’ podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson in April, where he spoke about MJ’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’ and the similarities he found between himself and Jordan.

“You know, it’s funny,” Beal said at the 12-minute mark. “I said, ‘Damn, I feel like Mike sometimes.'”

“Like, when you have [Scottie Pippen] out, it’s like having John [Wall] out, vice versa. It’s like, damn, it’s tough. You’ve got to carry that night in and night out. And granted, you see the physicality, you see the grind. It was a different brand of basketball back then. And watching it, you have nothing but the utmost respect for him just to see where he was and where he got to.”

This season hasn’t been easy for Beal, who has faced the absence of John Wall and became the leader of the struggling Wizards and he’s done a very good job. If there is one reason why the Wizards have had the chance to win some games, that’s Bradley Beal. He’s averaging a career-best 30.5 points per game while 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Washington boasts a 24-40 record in the Eastern Conference with Beal putting a show on a nightly basis. The shooting guard has been linked with a move away from Washington in recent days, so perhaps his time in D.C. might be coming to an end.
