Jayson Tatum has been very active in social media after the NBA shut down the season last month. The Boston Celtics star was answering questions on Twitter a couple of weeks ago and now he took to Instagram to deliver some interesting statements.
During an Instagram live session with basketball skills coach Pep Stanciel, Tatum offered his takes on the best players in the league. When Stanciel asked him who is the best player in the league, he didn’t hesitate to name LeBron James, whom he battled in one of the most entertaining games of the 2019/20 season.

“This is LeBron’s 28th year in the league, and he was gonna win MVP,” Tatum said.
“LeBron, he is the best player, bro. He’s the best player until he’s no longer the best player. He got it. KD number two. Kawhi number three,” he added.
The 22-year-old also claimed James Harden should have won back-to-back MVPs. Last year, Harden came second in the ballot behind Giannis Antetokoumpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, but for Jayson, the Beard was the rightful winner.
“James Harden should have won MVP last year,” Tatum said. ” … He definitely should have won back-to-back MVPs.”
Moreover, he named the best players in the league at each position, going with Stephen Curry, James Harden, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Joel Embiid. It looks like Tatum is not a fan of Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he made the case for Harden for the MVP award and didn’t include him in his starting lineup. Still, he put some of the best names in the game there.
Tatum has gotten used to making big statements and these weren’t the exception. He’s still young, but he’s doing everything to be part of those conversations, where fans and other players pick him as one, if not the best player in the association.
