The Los Angeles Lakers keep looking for new players in the free market, and they have several options to pick, with only one open roster spot. To make room on their roster for whoever they sign, the Lakers decided to waive shooting guard Troy Daniels on Sunday.
While they have a scheduled workout with NBA free agent, Dion Waiters, there are other options for the Purple and Gold. For instance, LeBron James’ good friend JR Smith has been a recurrent name for the Lakers, but there is another man that could find his way to the Staples Center in the next few days.
Former NBA players-turned-analyst Jalen Rose mentioned another name that the Los Angeles Lakers may be considering.

“Don’t sleep on Jamal Crawford,” said Rose.
“This time last year Jamal Crawford was in the NBA averaging 30+ pts in the month of April.”
Crawford, 39, was the eighth pick in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls out of the University of Michigan.
A 20-year NBA veteran, Jamal Crawford has career averages of 14.6 points and 3.4 assists per game. The last time he suit up dropped 50 points on the Dallas Mavericks with the Phoenix Suns.
Some people within the organization see with good eyes a potential arrival of Crawford. Los Angeles Lakers big man, Anthony Davis, knows Crawford can add some valuable things to the squad.
“Instant scorer,” Davis told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Heavy.com.
“If we’re looking for a scorer, he’s definitely on that list. He can score at will. He knows the game, very crafty with the ball, so if we’re looking for a scorer, then he’s definitely a guy I can see us going after.”
While Waiters and Smith are the names with more attention right now, there is no doubt that Crawford could be a good addition to the Lakers, who need a third scorer behind AD and LeBron James.
