Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade got emotional when discussing how he felt about Kobe Bryant’s tragic death on Sunday. Wade called the tragedy “one of the saddest days” of his lifetime and a “nightmare.” He also thanked Kobe and admitted he craved Bryant’s respect throughout his career.

Playing in the same position, Kobe and Wade competed against each other several times for a big chunk of the past decade. However, they had the opportunity to join forces with Team USA during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

These two were the best shooting guards in the league over the last 15 years or so and were often pitted against one another in MVP conversations and more.

Besides his reaction on video, he sent a couple of posts honoring Kobe and his daughter Gianna, who also lost her life in the tragic accident.

Sunday was a very sad day for everybody, but Wade made sure to honor KB24 and show the appreciation he had for their relationship while remembering the greatness of Bryant.
