Karl-Anthony Towns Doesn’t Want To Be Traded: ‘I’m Here To Be A Minnesota Timberwolf’

A lot has been said about Karl-Anthony Towns and his chances to leave the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. He was heavily linked with a move to the Bay to team up with D’Angelo Russell and the Golden State Warriors.

Those rumors have apparently vanished now, but KAT has remained the subject of several reports involving his potential exit from Minnesota. However, the player has stated he doesn’t want to move and he’s happy with the T-Wolves.

Here's Towns' answer when asked about those reports saying teams were monitoring his level of happiness with the Wolves. pic.twitter.com/KL1pR9GD8B

Per Chris Hine of the Star Tribune, Towns played down all the trade rumors and “reaffirmed his commitment to the Wolves”:

“I think you’ve been around me long enough to know I don’t go for all the …,” Towns said. “I just do my job, go home and I know what the real story is. There’s a reason those stories are made because people need to sell papers, sell links and clicks, whatever the case may be. I’m here to be a Minnesota Timberwolf. Very fortunate I have a head coach like [Ryan Saunders], a President and friend like [Gersson Rosas]. I’m not worried about all that nonsense.”

Towns played 28 minutes in his return against the Indiana Pacers, going 9-of-21 shooting from the floor with 27 points and five rebounds in the 116-114 loss. Seeing Towns making his return to the floor Friday was only the second-most reassuring event for Minnesota fans on the night, though.

The trade deadline is getting closer and the speculation is getting big. It remains to be seen if any potential suitor comes with a good offer to land Towns.

This guy could be an important piece wherever he goes, and the T-Wolves could get a few pieces to start a new rebuilding process. Yet, Towns has stated nothing has changed for him and the team, so there is nothing to be worried about.
