The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the contenders in the Eastern Conference as of today, as their big 3 features a trio of two-way studs that can lead them to a huge playoff run a couple of months from now.
Even though they tanked their way through several seasons, the Sixers have featured some outstanding ballers over the last decade, some of them still being stars in the league as of today.
So, what we’re going to do, is that we’re going to take the 5 best starters the Sixers have had over the last decade, to try and see how they’d fare in today’s NBA. Are you in?
Honorable Mention: 13-14 Michael Carter-Williams, 13-14 Thaddeus Young, 09-10 Lou Williams
Point Guard: 12-13 Jrue Holiday
17.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 8.0 APG, 1.6 SPG, 1.2 3PTS
Jrue Holiday had a breakout year back in 12-13 when he was still with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was considered as a surging talent but his constant injuries and the team’s decision towards tanking eventually made them part ways with him.
Still, he was on a tear over that season and even made it to his first (and only) All-Star game, especially thanks to his playmaking ability combined with his lockdown backcourt defense, an impressive feature for such a youngster.
Shooting Guard: 18-19 Jimmy Butler
18.0 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 3.2 APG, 1.9 SPG, 1.2 3PTS
Jimmy Butler has already started making problems in the Philadelphia 76ers’ locker room and he hasn’t been as prolific as he was during his Minnesota Timberwolves tenure, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been great anyways.
Butler is one of the best two-way players in the league and he will probably make another All-Star appearance. Whether he’s going to stay with the Sixers, that’s still up in the air.
Small Forward: 09-10 Andre Iguodala
17.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 5.8 APG, 1.7 SPG, 1.1 3PTS
A lot of people seem to have forgotten about Andre Iguodala’s two-way impact back in the day for the Philadelphia 76ers, as he was later dealt to the Nuggets and eventually embraced a lesser with the Golden State Warriors.
Andre was a dominant scorer from within the close range, not to mention his ability to lock down opposing wings on a nightly basis. Incredibly, he didn’t make it to the All-Star game that year despite his great campaign.
Power Forward: 18-19 Ben Simmons
16.4 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 7.9 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.8 BPG
The reigning Rookie of the Year has been even more impressive this season, although most of his haters keep pushing for him to develop a jump-shot and start chugging up three-pointers in order to be the best player in the league.
Simmons is already one of the craftiest playmakers we’ve ever seen, and his length allows him to guard 1 through 5 with great ease. Even without a jump-shot, he’s a dominant scorer that will keep getting better and better.

Center: 18-19 Joel Embiid

Saving the best for last, we find the ultimate Sixer, The Process himself. Embiid is the living proof that it was worth waiting and going through so much, as he looks like a generational talent that has all the tools to win the MVP and the DPOY award one day.
Embiid can do a little bit of everything, guard all the way to the perimeter, even hit an occasional three-pointer, or play below the rim as a hard-nosed post player and rim protector. He’s got what it takes to be the league’s best big man.
