There have been a lot of misconceptions about Jimmy Butler and the actual minutes that he has spent on the court during his career.

Many people believe that Butler has a lot of experience. However, he has played very few minutes for a star at his age of 29, just 15,650 of them. It may sound like a lot for someone who is beginning his ninth season of the NBA but when you compare it to other similar players who are also around the same age as Butler.

James Harden is the same age as Jimmy Butler and he has played 23,837 minutes. This is an incredible difference from Butler, an 8000-minute difference. One of the greatest modern-day players, Kevin Durant, has played a total of 28,603 minutes and he is only one year older than Butler.

Other players such as John Wall, Klay Thompson and Kemba Walker who are all younger than Jimmy Butler, have played more minutes in the league. Even Kyrie Irving, who is only 26, has already played roughly the same number of minutes as Butler.

Kyrie Irving is 3 years young and he played almost the same minutes as Jimmy Butler. Even Udonis Haslem, Andrew Bogut and Nene Hilario played more minutes than Butler.

Jimmy Butler is starting to show how talented of a star he really is with his new beginning with the Philadelphia 76ers. Butler hit the game-winning three in a huge last quarter effort that helped the Sixers get over the Brooklyn Nets in a 127-125 victory.

The Sixers have moved up to third place on the Eastern Conference standings giving the franchise a massive chance to make a huge impact come the postseason. Butler may be the missing piece in what leads the Sixers to a Finals birth. Although his minutes haven’t been anything too spectacular over his career, he will surely spend a lot more time on the court this season if the 76ers are serious about going deep in the postseason.
