You’re never going to be able to please everybody, especially if you’re a public persona that’s constantly facing decisions that are going to hurt one fanbase or another.

NBA players are often asked to do what’s best for the team and the fans, so when they actually decide to do what’s best for them – either financially or sports wise – some irrational fans tend to react the wrong way.

So, after some guys let their hearts out for their teams and give their best on a nightly basis, fans hate their guts in the blink of an eye because they decide to leave their teams. Today, we’re going to let you know about the best players whose jerseys were burned by fans.

6. Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade is the greatest player in Miami Heat history, he was a huge part in all of the three Championships the franchise has ever won and is by far one of the best two-way players in the history of the game.

Even so, after being lowballed by Pat Riley with a disrespectful offer, Wade decided to join his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. Eventually, heartbroken fans burned his jerseys after 13 seasons at South Beach. That’s just sad and dumb.

5. Ray Allen

Ray Allen was a major factor in the Boston Celtics 2008 Championship against the Los Angeles Lakers, but following some altercations with Rajon Rondo and the team’s front office, he decided to leave and join the reigning Champions: the Miami Heat.

Allen was labeled as a traitor for joining the team that had been battling with the Celtics for the supremacy of the Eastern Conference, so fans burned his jerseys and some of his teammates still resent him.

4. Dwight Howard

There was a time when Dwight Howard was considered to be the best big man in the world, and he even carried the Orlando Magic all the way to the 2009 Finals but was eventually traded to the Lakers after he had outgrown the team and the city.

Magic fans burned his jerseys because he demanded to be traded, but more surprisingly, Lakers fan also burned Howard’s jersey following a disappointing 1-year tenure. It looks like Howard is going to be the only Hall of Famer that doesn’t has a fanbase that actually likes him.

3. Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant went from hero to villain in the blink of an eye after he decided to join the very same team that had kicked his butt in the playoffs last season, the Golden State Warriors, bailing out on the team, his fans, and Russell Westbrook.

Durant was labeled as a snake and even though he proved that he made the right choice and won back-to-back Championships and Finals MVPs, he’s forever lost the respect of his fans. Also, Warriors fans still think that’s Curry’s team.

2. Gordon Hayward

Gordon Hayward spent the first 7 seasons of his career with the Utah Jazz, slowly growing to become one of the best wing players in the league before deciding to take his talents to the Boston Celtics.

Unsurprisingly, that made Jazz fans lose it and burn his jerseys even despite him always saying great things about the city, the fans and the organization, and up to this day; they’re still booing him. C’mon, man!

And obviously, LeBron James has to be at the top of this list. When he first bailed on the Cavs to win an NBA Championship with Wade and Bosh, Cleveland fans burned jerseys, shoes and pretty much everything related with the kid of Akron out of pure despair.

Moreover, when James decided to take his talents back to his hometown, angry Heat fans also burned all LeBron-related apparel, and he was even hated by Lakers fans before making his debut in purple and gold.
