Anne Hathaway thanked OG Anunoby for helping her cross off an item on her bucket list after he nearly crashed into her at the Knicks-Bulls game.

OG Anunoby nearly crashed into actress Anne Hathaway in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game between the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden. While some might consider that to be an unpleasant experience, Hathaway sure didn’t as she took to Instagram to reveal it was a “bucket-list” moment.

“I almost got crashed into last night,” Hathaway said. “I always wanted that to happen! Thanks OG.”

Hathaway was indeed all smiles when it happened and it sure seemed like she enjoyed the moment. I can’t say I have ever wanted to come dangerously close to an NBA player crashing into me but to each their own. Anunoby, who is listed at 6’7″ and 232 pounds, hilariously accepted the 42-year-old’s gratitude as well, as he commented on the post.

“You’re welcome.”

While Hathaway was all smiles, her four-year-old son Jack sure wasn’t. He seemed rather disappointed that Anunoby had knocked over his popcorn but I assume the “Princess Diaries” star or her husband Adam Shulman, who was also in attendance, would have gotten their youngest son another pack soon enough.

Jack, who was wearing a Knicks jersey, might have been a bit disappointed after the final buzzer sounded as well, as the Bulls won 124-123. Jalen Brunson looked to have won that game for the home team, but his potential game-winning buzzer-beater just rimmed out to make it quite the heartbreaking loss.

Anunoby had a somewhat of a rare off-night against the Bulls, finishing with 14 points (5-14 FG), nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. He and his team would bounce back in their next game, though.

The Knicks followed up a heartbreaking defeat with a thrilling 124-122 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday at Madison Square Garden. This time, Brunson gave them the lead in the dying moments, and then on the other end, Mikal Bridges blocked Dennis Schroder’s layup to ensure they avoided overtime and improved to 6-6 on the season.

Anunoby delivered in a big way against the Nets, putting up 25 points (10-17 FG), eight rebounds, one assist, and two steals. It was the kind of performance that Knicks fans are getting accustomed to from the Brit.

Anunoby has now averaged 19.9 points on 51.3% shooting from the field in his last eight games and is certainly trending upward. For the season, meanwhile, the 27-year-old is putting up 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.

While the Knicks haven’t had quite as good of a start as many expected them to, Anunoby certainly can’t be blamed for that. He has impressed and should only get better with time. As for Anunoby and the Knicks’ next assignment, they play the Nets at Madison Square Garden again on Sunday at 7 PM ET.
