Just days before the NBA preseason games, LeBron James went on Kai Cenat’s live stream to cut his dreadlocks and celebrate the end of the Mafiathon 3 series that Cenat worked on for the past month.
During the live stream, James went down to Cenat’s court to throw up a few shots with him. Before they reached the court, he got candid about how the Lakers’ coaching staff might react to seeing him play when he is supposed to be on their injured list.
“So don’t be trying to get me to play for real now. You know, if my coaches see this sh**. I’m on the injury reserve list right now. They’re going to be mad at me.”
James went on to have a terrible display on the court as he made only two of his 13 shot attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

But NBA fans would not let him forget as they swarmed social media with reactions on how poorly James shot while on Kai Cenat’s live stream.
“Go back to practice, LeBron.”
“Hell nah. Get this bum out of my Lakers. Missing shots against 5’3 Kai.”
“LeBrick James.”
“He needs to fix the rim asap, or we need to cancel Kai.”
“Skipped practice for a Kai stream.”
“Broke a** jumper.”
“That man is building a house.”
Several such reactions flooded the internet as James eventually blamed the rim for his terrible shooting. Just shortly before this stream went live, JJ Redick revealed that James might not be available to play during the preseason, but considering what he did last year, the Lakers’ coaching staff has decided to take it slower with James this season.
According to Dave McMenamin, ESPN’s NBA reporter, even James’ representation is on the same page with the Lakers that they need to be “overly cautious” about using LeBron James this season. Even at age 40, James is coming off an All-NBA caliber season where he averaged better numbers than most players do in their prime. 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds while shooting. Therefore, he still brings value to the table for the Lakers as long as he is used wisely as a tool for the team.
