Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is one of the most important players on the team’s young lineup. The 25-year-old was expected to be sidelined for an extended period after undergoing ankle surgery in September. However, a recent update provided by the Atlanta Hawks announcer presented a positive outlook.
“I was talking to the Miami Heat, some of their personnel said Tyler Herro will be ready to go by the beginning of the regular season,” said the announcer.
In an earlier report, Herro himself indicated that he could miss the first few games of the regular season, roughly marking 5-6 games. Considering that he was expected to be among the stars who would be sidelined at the start of the season, the Heat only benefit if his name comes off that list.
The 25-year-old has become a core member of the Heat’s offensive schemes. Apart from being the primary scoring option, Herro also embraced the role of the facilitator. By shouldering the offensive burden for Miami, the Heat saw the young guard earn his first All-Star selection as he grew into his role as a franchise player.
Paired with Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro helps form Miami’s star core. Given how valuable he is to the team and their overall performance, the Heat will hope to see him back on the court soon.
Can Tyler Herro Lead The Heat To The Playoffs?
Tyler Herro is coming off a career year with the Miami Heat. With the departure of Jimmy Butler last season, Herro ascended to the role of the first option on offense. On a team with a lot of young talent, the 25-year-old not only carved out a place for himself in the lineup, but he also firmly cemented himself as the team’s go-to scorer.
Last season, Herro averaged 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game on 47.2% shooting overall and 37.5% from three-point range.
Tyler Herro’s development as an offensive player has been noteworthy. But will this help the Heat secure a playoff berth in the upcoming season?
It is difficult to say that their success will be solely dictated by Herro’s performance at this stage, but Miami certainly possesses some impressive assets that could help cement their status as a playoff team.
Along with Herro, Adebayo remains a formidable two-way player. With the star big man averaging 18.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game last season, the Heat could look to the 28-year-old to remain a significant contributor.
Aside from the star core, the Heat will also see the development of several key players in the rotation. With Kel’el Ware‘s impressive showcases during the preseason, Nikola Jovic‘s performance at EuroBasket, and Jaime Jaquez Jr.‘s resurgence, along with the weakened state of the East, Miami could be poised to finish in the top six of the Eastern Conference if its key players can remain healthy.
