Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest basketball players we have ever seen and his nephew Jarrett Harris hopes to follow in his footsteps and make it to the NBA. Harris has been making waves in the basketball world recently and O’Neal showed some highlights of his on Instagram.

Harris, who has enrolled at Lutheran High School of Indianapolis, appears to be a freakish athlete. According to NCSA, the 14-year-old is already 6’4″ and weighs 205 lbs. He has a 40-inch vertical and a wingspan of 6-foot-7. The teenager certainly has the physical gifts one needs to become a success.

Harris also has a great guide for his basketball journey in O’Neal. The two appear to be quite close, with the youngster revealing on Instagram that the Hall of Famer has always been there for him.

“Shaquille O’Neal is huge influence in my life and I truly look up to him. His incredible talent as a basketball player is admirable, but it’s his kind heart and positive attitude that truly sets him apart. Unc told me he will always be there for me, offering words of wisdom and encouragement whenever I need it. I am beyond grateful to have him in my life and I strive to be as successful and compassionate as he is. Shaquille O’Neal will always be a big factor in shaping who I am. Love yu Unc.”

O’Neal reacted wholesomely to that post by commenting, “Your gonna b way better I got u.” I doubt Harris turns out to be better than his uncle, as very few in history can claim that.

O’Neal won four titles, three Finals MVPs, an MVP, and two scoring titles during his storied NBA career. He was an unstoppable force at his peak and is considered by many to be the most dominant player in modern NBA history.

It’s too early to say if Harris will be anywhere near as good and impactful as O’Neal was, or if he’ll even make it to the pros. His physical gifts and talent give him a great base to build off, but he is going to have to put his head down and work his socks off to make it to the NBA.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
