Fresh off his first NBA championship victory, Celtics star Jaylen Brown is making sure to enjoy the moment with some good company. During the Celtics’ championship parade in Boston this week, Jaylen and his Finals MVP trophy were sitting front and center in the festivities, along with WNBA athlete Kysre Gondrezick.

The Boston Celtics are officially champions of the basketball world after taking down the Mavericks in 5 games to win the Finals. Jaylen Brown was named the Finals MVP for his performance in the series, with an average of 20.8 points per game while defending at an elite level.

Jaylen, 27, confirmed that he’s currently living a single life, and his relationship with Kysre isn’t entirely clear. All we know for sure is that they have some level of familiarity with each other and that Jaylen wanted her there during his big day of celebration.

On social media, fans were buzzing about the scene and many couldn’t help but feel almost envious of Jaylen, who is living his best life right now as a champion, a Finals MVP, and a friend to one of the W’s most popular up-and-coming stars.

Of course, while this may be her first time on an NBA championship float, Gondrezick is no stranger to the NBA process. Her prior history with former Rockets swingman Kevin Porter Jr. is well-documented and an example of how things can go wrong for players and their families.

The incident happened back in September of last year when Porter Jr. was arrested for assaulting Kysre. According to reports from the incident, Porter Jr. covered the room with blood and it was a scene that left everyone feeling bad.

In a bizarre twist, however, Gondrezick denied that series of events and claimed that Kevin never hit her at all. To this day, Kysre feels that the true story of what happened was never told and that those in charge ignored her side of the story for the sake of feeding their own narrative.

Regardless of what happened that night, Kysre has moved on to bigger and better things now. As a member of the Chicago Sky, she’s working overtime to earn minutes on the court. Of course, she’s also spending this summer alongside Jaylen Brown on the full NBA championship celebration tour.

After going 16-3 in the playoffs, the Celtics really earned this chip, and their place as the best team in basketball can no longer be denied. Unfortunately, with the draft and NBA free agency just around the corner, they don’t have too much longer before the focus shifts toward defending their title.

So long as the Celtics have Brown and Tatum (both drafted 3rd overall) they will have a good chance to make a deep playoff run. And now that he’s got a taste of ultimate victory, Jaylen Brown wants to keep the fire burning. Only time will tell what comes next but nobody should be surprised if Gondrezick manages to return to that championship float next year.
