Jalen Brunson dominated against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, recording 39 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead the New York Knicks to a 118-109 win. While Brunson impressed one and all with his performance, two women who attended the game seemed to be a tad too impressed, as they made biting gestures at him.

I sure hope both these women are single, or else they might have some explaining to do when they get home. While this was the first time I had seen biting gestures, we have seen instances along these lines in the past. In some ways, Brunson became part of an elite group during this game.
As for Brunson himself, he married his longtime girlfriend, Ali Marks, in 2023. The two met back in high school, and their relationship has seemingly only gone from strength to strength since then.
Jalen Brunson Has Been On A Tear Of Late
Following that performance against the Celtics, Brunson is now averaging 36.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 0.8 steals per game in his last 10 games, which is ridiculous. He also shot 51.2% from the field and 40.2% from beyond the arc at that time, which is simply amazing.
When the Knicks signed Brunson to a four-year, $104 million deal in 2022, it was seen as a bit of an overpay. He only really had one good playoff run with the Dallas Mavericks, but he showed very quickly that signing him was one of the best moves the Knicks have made in recent history.
Brunson led the Knicks to the playoffs last season and has done so again this time around. The win against the Celtics saw them improve to 48-32 on the season and the Knicks remain just a game behind the 49-31 Milwaukee Bucks for that second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Brunson’s excellence this season was rewarded with his first selection to the All-Star Game. He wasn’t a starter, though, which some felt was a bit unfair. Brunson is getting his flowers now, with Kenny Smith going as far as to say that he has been the best player in the Eastern Conference by far this season.
While Brunson is in that conversation, I would say Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the best player in the East this season. I would also have Joel Embiid in front of him, even with the big man having missed so much time due to injury.
Some might even throw in the likes of Jayson Tatum ahead of Brunson, but it isn’t a long list by any means. That shows just how great the 27-year-old has been this season, and he’ll now be hoping to lead the Knicks on a deep playoff run. The franchise hasn’t even reached the Conference Finals in over two decades at this point, but as long as they avoid the Celtics, I think they can make it that far this time.
