As a 2x MVP and 4x NBA champion, Stephen Curry is already one of the greatest point guards we’ve ever seen. Speaking on 95.7 “The Game,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr (former teammate of Michael Jordan) even hailed Curry as the most skilled NBA player of All-Time.

“I think the argument that maybe isn’t even an argument, is he is the most skilled player of All-Time,” said Kerr. “I just look at Steph as the most skilled basketball player I’ve ever seen. There’s never been anybody in terms of the shooting and ball-handling ability and ability to shoot from the distances he shoots from and the finishing in the lane… I’ve never seen anybody as skilled with the ball as Steph Curry.”

Stephen Curry is known for his three-point shooting, but his bag is arguably deeper than anyone else in the game right now. Between his dribbling, playmaking, shooting, and finishing around the rim, Curry can do it all on offense and we’ve never seen who’s made a bigger impact on the court. This season, at 35 years old, Curry is averaging 28.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on 46.4% shooting.

Steph Curry In The GOAT Conversation?

For years now, the GOAT debate has revolved around Michael Jordan and LeBron James with little room for anybody else. But following his fourth championship win in 2022, and continued excellence well into his 15th season, Stephen Curry is starting to join that conversation. As. a 9x All-Star, 9x All-NBA player, and 2x scoring champion, he’s got the accolades to hold his own against LeBron and Michael.

Even so, it took LeBron nearly 20 years to catch up to Jordan and Stephen Curry still has a ways to go before he can truly be considered the GOAT. This season, amid tough times for the Warriors, we will see what Curry is made of as he attempts to keep his team afloat in the deep Western Conference. But if he’s able to pull off an upset in the playoffs or bring another title to San Francisco, it will be time to have some serious conversations about where he ranks among the best of the best.

The Last Dance For The Dynasty

The best way Curry can beef up his GOAT case is by winning more championships in Golden State. As a 4x title winner already, Curry has already proven that he can win when the stakes are highest and the Warriors are counting on him once again to lead them to success this season. With a 13-14 record so far, the Warriors haven’t looked like themselves in the early going but the team still has faith that Steph can take them all the way.

The problem now is that Steph’s longtime teammates (Klay, Draymond, and Kevon Looney) have failed to step up this season and it’s left the team looking for solutions. But unless a trade happens soon, or the Warriors’ core returns to their typical level of productivity, Curry alone will not be enough to take the Warriors on a run. But if Steph can stay healthy, the Warriors may be able to make one last stand to end this historically great era.
