The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a nail-biting clutch 103-106 win against the young Orlando Magic. Fans were ready to have a meltdown on social media after a possible loss but were instead relieved that the team pulled the win off.

Jalen Suggs was being roasted for his failure to convert various late-game opportunities.

Fans were joking about the rollercoaster of emotions Lakers fans go through with every win.

Fans went crazy with another clutch LeBron moment as he blocked a game-tying three from Franz Wagner.

Fans pointed out how an aggressive Anthony Davis can make all the difference for the Lakers.

D’Angelo Russell was a star for the Lakers tonight and was commended heavily for his overall impact on the game.

Some fans pointed out that Austin Reaves has been removed from late-game rotations after his slow start to the season.

Other fans weren’t as impressed, as the Lakers are a contending team and shouldn’t be in a dogfight against a young squad like the Orlando Magic.

The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who had another monstrous night on the boards. He grabbed 19 rebounds to go with his 26 points, showing all his doubters that he can rise up to the challenge of being the Lakers primary star. The win was clinched because of D’Angelo Russell’s 28 points and eight assists. LeBron James struggled through the first three quarters but came alive in the clutch to end the night with 19 points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a game-sealing block.

The Magic had a rough offensive night but were keeping the Lakers at bay with their aggressive defense and pace. Gary Harris led them in scoring with 17 points off the bench, while Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs added 16 and 15 points, respectively. Paolo Banchero struggled heavily, unable to dominate the paint against AD. He scored just nine points, adding another subpar performance to his early-season woes.

The Lakers Avoided A Disastrous Start To The Season

The Lakers would have sent their fans into panic mode with a loss tonight. Thankfully, the fourth-quarter discipline the team has shown paid off against a young Magic that couldn’t sustain their strong play from earlier in the game. However, the Lakers cannot be satisfied with pulling out such a close win against a team a contender should expect to dominate.

The defense showed up for large stretches today, but the offensive qualms that have plagued this team also were a big talking point. LeBron James has been great to start the year, but he’s been uncharacteristically poor for the first three quarters before turning up in the fourth. While his presence leads to better possessions for the Lakers in general, his scoring has been a little underwhelming as he is settling for more jump shots than ever.

The Magic came into the game undefeated and gave the Lakers a real run for their money, indicating they may be better than anticipated. But the Lakers will be happy with the win regardless of how gritty it was, especially on the second night of a back-to-back.
