  • Andre Drummond thinks he is the best rebounder of all time
  • Drummond also believes he has done more than enough to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame
  • The 30-year-old was trolled for his huge claims

At one point during his career, Andre Drummond was one of the best rebounders in the NBA. He was the NBA’s Rebounding Champion in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Sure, Drummond is still 30 years old and can play for a few years in the NBA. But his best days are undoubtedly behind him. The 2x NBA All-Star believes he has already achieved enough in his career to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

“I used to play 40+ minutes, I was a star, All-Star, All-NBA, I’ve done it all. I’m a Hall of Fame candidate and the best rebounder ever. I’m the best ever. I’ve done great in my career and have the chance to be a Hall of Fame player.”

As if Drummond’s claim of being the best rebounder ever wasn’t controversial enough, he thinks he belongs in the Hall of Fame. NBA fans on Twitter weren’t kind to Drummond’s huge claims and brutally trolled the Chicago Bulls center.

One fan praised Drummond for his skills but still disagreed with his ‘best rebounder ever’ take.

A fan couldn’t control his laughter after Drummond made the claim.

Another fan says his short run with the Brooklyn Nets ruined his chances of becoming a Hall of Famer.

One fan posted a hilarious meme to troll Drummond.

A fans somehow agreed with him.

As far as being a top rebounder goes, Drummond’s peak was phenomenal. He averaged a double-double for 10 straight seasons from 2013-14 to 2020-21 season.

Drummond averaged 15.2 points, 14.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game in that stretch.

Does Andre Drummond Deserve To Be Inducted Into The Basketball Hall Of Fame?

Andre Drummond was drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. Over his 11-year career in the league, Drummond has averaged 13.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

On top of it, Drummond has managed to be a 1x All-NBA, 2x NBA All-Star, 4x NBA Rebounding Champion, and 1x NBA All-Rookie. It goes without saying that his resume is not that impressive.

In fact, as of now, Drummond only has a 1.91% probability of being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. So, he can make all the claims he wants, but it would be a miracle if he becomes a Hall of Famer.

Andre Drummond Returned To The Chicago Bulls Ahead Of The 2023-24 NBA Season

In the 2022-23 season, Andre Drummond completely accepted his role as a bench player for the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 6.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.5 assists over 67 games for the team.

Drummond exercised his $3.3 million player option for the 2023-24 NBA season. There was a time when he was earning more than $25 million annually, but things change quickly in the NBA. Drummond used his career as a motivation for young hoopers.

“I had a bad attitude. I went from $100 Million dollars to a f*****g league minimum,” Drummond said. “They don’t care how many rebounds you get, or how many threes you make.

“They care about you as a person, are you a good teammate? Are you a good locker room guy? You play 100% every time you step on that f*****g floor.”

That’s great advice for all the young basketball players out there. But Drummond is still 30 years old and can redeem himself over the next few seasons. He may earn a better contract before inevitably retiring from the league.
