Brian Windhorst Suggests Crypto.com Arena’s Allocations Have Given The Clippers A Poor NBA Schedule

  • The Los Angeles Clippers have a tougher schedule than the Lakers for the 2023-24 season
  • Brian Windhorst suggests this could have something to do with Crypto.com’s allocations for the dates they can use the stadium
  • Brian Windhorst pointed out that this is the second year that this has happened

Brian Windhorst thinks that the Los Angeles Clippers may have been shafted when it comes to their schedule for the 2023-24 season. Speaking on a podcast, Windhorst addressed the issue by saying that the way Crypto.com Arena has been allocated to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers may be the cause of this.

“But like in terms of all the like back-to-backs and three-in-four and five-in-seven, the Clippers are at or near the top of the list… which is interesting,” Tim MacMahon said on The Hoop Collective.

Windhorst replied, “I think the second year in a row that this – something like this has happened… But it’s been particularly, I think… I hope I’m not going to get in trouble for this. I can see my phone ringing. The Lakers are at the other end of the list. Well, yeah.

“That’s– I think it’s been slightly worse the last two years in terms of the way the Clippers’ usage of CRYPTO.COM has been allocated. I think it’s been slightly worse because they’re on their way out. And so any 50/50 ball goes into the other direction [to the Lakers].”

The Los Angeles Clippers are dealing with 25 stretches this season where they will play three games in four nights, which seems almost unfair. For example, the difference between them and the Denver Nuggets, who have just 16 such stretches is quite stark. The Clippers may be getting short-changed by the arena they share with the Lakers.

Terrance Mann Has Spoken Up About Lakers Players Being Treated Better Than Clippers Players In Crypto.com Arena

While this is a big thing to suggest, it wouldn’t be completely unthinkable either. Terrance Mann recently spoke about how Clippers players are treated differently in the arena than Lakers players. The Lakers are the priority when it comes to Los Angeles and the Crypto.com Arena in particular.

Thankfully for them, they won’t have to deal with it for too much longer. The building of the Clippers’ arena, the Intuit Dome, has been underway and the franchise will soon have a home of its own. Until then though, they may have to deal with being treated a bit unfairly.
