  • A post showing potential Lakers jerseys for the 2023-24 season has gone viral
  • Lakers fans and NBA fans, in general, don’t seem to be big fans of the leaked design
  • Many have suggested different Los Angeles Lakers jerseys for next season instead

The Los Angeles Lakers are called the Purple and Gold thanks to their iconic jerseys. But while the purple and gold jerseys are mainstays, another potential black jersey for the 2023-24 season has been leaked in a social media post. And the response from fans has been far from ideal.

While the color scheme isn’t different from things the Lakers have tried before, fans don’t seem to be vibing with these jerseys.

According to one fan, there are redeeming qualities about these jerseys, but the text and the font that the designers have chosen are not something that they’re big fans of.

The Los Angeles Lakers have often had alternative jerseys that are white, and as one fan suggested, there is no need for Nike to be fixing something that is not broken in the first place.

Another fan doesn’t even want the truly traditional colors, instead suggesting a different alternative altogether.

And while many fans had various criticisms and opinions on these potential jerseys, one fan didn’t pull any punches and kept it extremely simple.

NBA Fans Voted For And Chose The Greatest Lakers Jersey Of All Time

As mentioned above the Los Angeles Lakers have had black jerseys in the past, with a lot of fans loving them quite a bit. The team’s Black Mamba jersey, which was their City Edition strip during the 2017-18 season in honor of Kobe Bryant, was chosen as the GOAT Lakers jersey after a vote among NBA fans on social media

While the color scheme isn’t too different from these leaked ones, those jerseys are a little more special for reasons other than just the design. Regardless, it won’t matter what the team looks like on the court as long as they get the job done.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have the task to improve on last season’s Western Conference Finals appearance next year, and those expectations will not change regardless of what the jerseys look like. With the schedule now out and ready, the Lakers will be raring to go by the time late October rolls around.
