  • Paul Pierce says he is better than 99.9% of people on Twitter despite being 45 years old
  • Pierce claims Twitter users always have the most to say
  • The Boston Celtics legend retired from the NBA in 2017

Paul Pierce enjoyed a 19-year-long career in the NBA. Being drafted as the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft, fans had great expectations of him.

He averaged 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for his career while also leading the Boston Celtics to the 2008 NBA Championship. Despite his achievements, Paul Pierce is certainly not a better player than Dwyane Wade. Many fans have reminded him of the same on Twitter. Well, Pierce finally snapped and clapped back at the fans.

“Iโ€™m still better at hoop than 99.9 percent of people on Twitter,” Pierce said.

“Yโ€™all got the most to say dummy,” the 45-year-old responded to a fan.

Taking a look at Pierce’s career, he was a 1x NBA champion, 1x NBA Finals MVP, 4x All-NBA Selections, and 10x NBA All-Star. Pierce was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

It goes without saying that Pierce had a phenomenal career in the NBA, but certainly not better than Wade.

For comparison, Wade was a 3x NBA champion, 1x NBA Finals MVP, 8x All-NBA Selections, 3x All-Defensive Selections, 13x NBA All-Star, 1x NBA Scoring Champion, and 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP. Wade also averaged 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game for his career.

Paul Pierce Says He Never Compared Himself To Dwyane Wade

Paul Pierce has been berated by the NBA community from time to time for drawing comparisons with Dwyane Wade.

However, the Celtics legend reveals he never compared himself to Wade. Instead, Pierce said he was only answering a question.

“I never compared myself to Dwyane Wade. I was asked a question. How would you answer if you were me? I would never disrespect him, he is an all-time great. All Iโ€™m saying is, the narrative surrounding me would be different if I was lucky enough to play with all-timers earlier in my career.”

Despite that, Pierce has tried several times to prove why he’s better than Wade. Paul Pierce believes if he had the likes of LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal on his team, he would win more NBA titles as well.

Either way, Pierce has dug a deep hole for himself by comparing himself to Wade. As a result, most NBA fans use it as an opportunity to troll the 45-year-old whenever they get a chance.
