• Jaylen Brown just signed the richest contract in NBA history worth $304 million over five years

• Grant Williams and Robert Williams tried to reach out to congratulate him but weren’t able to

• They then proceeded to hilariously call him out on social media

Jaylen Brown might just feel like he is on top of the world right now. It might have taken a bit longer than he’d have liked, but he has now signed the richest contract in NBA history worth $304 million over five years.

His current Boston Celtics teammate Robert Williams and former teammate, Grant Williams, seemed to have attempted to reach out to him on FaceTime after that. Unfortunately for them, there was no response, and the two then proceeded to call him out for it.

It’s all in good fun, and no one’s certainly going to blame Brown for not answering, and he’s probably been bombarded with calls ever since the news broke. He might just be spending some quality time with the people that matter the most in his life, his family. With this new deal, Brown has also ensured that many upcoming generations of his family tree will be well taken care of.

Some Executives Around The League Think The Celtics Made A Mistake

The 2022-23 season was certainly the best of Brown’s seven-year NBA career on an individual level. He averaged 26.6 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 3.5 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 0.4 BPG to earn his second All-Star nod and he made the All-NBA Second Team as well.

Despite that, some executives around the league are baffled that the Celtics gave Brown this deal. They don’t see him as a top-two player on the team, with some even viewing him as the fifth-best player.

While it is easy to criticize the Celtics for this, they really had no choice. There was little chance Brown was going to accept anything less than the supermax and they’d have alienated him if they offered less than that. He has his flaws, but they wouldn’t have gotten a player of his caliber in return for him either if they’d tried to move him.
