The son of Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon, Aziz, has been balling out during his recent appearances at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. While showing flashes of brilliance with his smooth offensive play, the son of the Rockets center is garnering a lot of attention on social media.

Aziz Olajuwon is a part of the class of 2026. His dominant performances in his first two games at the camp showcase why he is viewed as a top prospect for the future.

In Game 1 of the Top 100 camp, Olajuwon dropped a whopping 29 points, showcasing a smooth stroke from the outside while also displaying a natural sense for finishing at the rim. This was followed up by another solid performance of 20 points in Game 2.

The 6’6″ forward displayed sublime technique and sense for the game, making use of his long frame to grab rebounds and finish strong in the paint.

Olajuwon is currently a four-star prospect, as ranked by ESPN, heading into next season. After spending his high school career with Fort Bend Clements HS, the guard only received three offers, namely from Virginia Tech, Sam Houston, and UT-Arlington.

While this may be considered underwhelming, following his recent performances at the camp, the youngster is expected to demand much more attention.

Olajuwon put up an average of 19.9 points and 6.7 rebounds during his junior year at Clements HS. Heading into his senior year, it is apparent these numbers were enough to satisfy scouts. The son of the Rockets legend is expected to join the Canadian U19 national team’s training camp with his brother.

The upside shown by Olajuwon as a two-way player could be worth looking into. The guard makes good use of his length and athleticism on defense and is a threat in transition, owing to his ability to move without the ball.

Having a father in the NBA naturally creates some pressure – Bronny James is a prime example of this. However, Olajuwon is virtually nothing like his father in terms of playing style.

Hakeem Olajuwon was one of the greatest centers in the NBA, an undisputed legend in every regard. His smooth footwork and agility made it impossible for opposing big men to keep up with him, and these same traits made him a menace on the defensive end as well.

The Rockets’ center cemented his legacy in the league with two NBA titles, with Finals MVPs to go with each. Along with this, he also racked up 12x All-Star selections, 12x All-NBA selections, 9x All-Defensive Team selections, three block titles, two rebounding titles, and to top it off, a selection to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.

From mentoring NBA stars to hilarious accounts of trash-talking with Kevin Garnett, Olajuwon was in a different league altogether.
