Nobody perhaps knows Michael Jordan better than his trainer Tim Grover, and the latter unsurprisingly picked the Chicago Bulls icon as his GOAT over LeBron James, and he had his reasons.

Appearing on a live show in front of a full crowd, Grover explained why he believed Jordan was the GOAT, stating that he has the facts to back it up. To begin with, he focused on Jordan’s accomplishments on the floor.

“I’m gonna give you facts right now. Three parts. This thing has happened only happened four times in the history of the NBA. While the regular season MVP, the first team defensive player, led the playoffs in scoring and won the MVP in the Finals.  All of this has happened only four times in the NBA. Do you know who the four players are doing the work? Jordan. Jordan. Jordan. Jordan.”

Grover highlighting MJ’s numbers are proof that ‘His Airness’ was undisputed during his time in the NBA.

He ended his decorated career as a 6x NBA Champion, 6x NBA Finals MVP (most in NBA history), 5x NBA MVP, 14x All-Star, 3x NBA All-Star MVP,  11x All-NBA Teams, NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 9x All-Defensive NBA Team, NBA Rookie of the Year, 10x NBA Scoring champion, and a 3x NBA Steals leader.

And add the fact that he averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in his illustrious NBA career spanning 15 seasons.

Now, in the second part, Grover decided to focus on the sneakers. “If you own a pair of Jordans, or have a pair of Jordans, stand up…” he said.

“If you have a pair of LeBrons on, stand up.”

Which, the response was practically zero number of fans in the audience sporting LeBrons in the arena.

“No. 3, here comes the mic drop right here, we’ve all heard the stories about individuals getting robbed of their Jordans, we’ve all heard the stories right? Have you heard of any story of any stuck up for their LeBrons? There you go.”

What MJ’s trainer did was also bring to note Jordan’s accomplishments off the court. His Jordan brand and the famed sneakers are a household staple and, more importantly an ever-in-vogue fashion statement.

His earnings from the brand even after his playing days show his marketability and influence. To lend perspective, his Jordan brand made $5.1 billion in fiscal 2022, of which Jordan receives a reported 5% due to his deal with the brand.

Based on those numbers, Forbes estimates that the Chicago Bulls superstar may have reportedly earned around $256.1 million in 2022 from just his licensing deal.

Grover’s respect for Jordan has been well-documented. And while he surely doesn’t mean any disrespect to James, he just made the world know who his GOAT was, taking his stance on the MJ vs. LeBron James debate.

Tim Grover Had An Emotional Response To Michael Jordan’s Relentless Drive And Work Ethic

One of the things that made Tim Grover proud was his relationship with Michael Jordan and the Bulls icon’s relentless drive. In ESPN and Netflix’s ‘The Last Dance’ Episode 8, Grover relived an incident that saw him well up.

“After the season, usually there’s a time period where Michael takes some time off. The night they lost to Orlando, I said, ‘Michael, you know, I’m about to get out of here. Let me know when you want me to see you.’ He goes, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’ . . . “

“Michael had an obligation to himself, the fans, his teammates, the organization, his family — everybody. He said, ‘If you’re going to sit down and take three hours out of your day to watch me on TV, I have an obligation to give you my best. . . to give you my best all the time.'”

And he did. Jordan bowed out of the game as a bonafide champion, further making the case as to why Grover picked him as his GOAT over anyone else.
