Michael Jordan’s greatness is undeniable. After winning six NBA championships in six Finals appearances, the Chicago Bulls legend became the greatest player of all time. Former teammate Ron Harper detailed what separated Michael from LeBron James and the other nine players who, just like His Airness, won two MVPs and one Finals MVP.

To set the context, Rachel Nichols first tweeted that an elite list of NBA players have won two MVP awards and a Finals MVP, saying that this is a great achievement that only Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry and Nikola Jokic won.

But, former Michael Jordan’s teammate had a very interesting response that separated Michael Jordan from any player on this list: “Which only player won defense of player, MVP regular season, and finals, and scoring title with steals title too??”

Safe to say, Harper is right in this case.

Jordan is the only name on the list who has won at least two MVP awards, the Finals MVP award and Defensive Player of the Year award with scoring and steals titles. And he didn’t win just one scoring title, he won ten which is the most in NBA history.

MJ had a remarkable 1988 season when he won the MVP award, Defensive Player of the Year award, and Scoring, and steals titles with 35.0 PPG and 3.2 SPG. This was the season when Jordan started to reign the NBA, and three years later he won his first NBA championship when the Chicago Bulls beat the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the 1991 NBA Finals.

He won his first three-peat from 1991 to 1993, and then he took time off for almost two years. Upon his return, he led the Bulls to another three-peat from 1996-1998.

What he won in his career, clearly no one else did. Just look at the impressive list of the awards and accolades that His Airness won in his NBA career:

6x NBA Champion (Never lost in the NBA Finals)

6x NBA Finals MVP (Most In NBA History)

5x NBA MVP Award

14x All-Star

3x NBA All-Star MVP

11x All-NBA Teams

NBA Defensive Player of the Year 9x All-Defensive NBA Team

NBA Rookie of the Year

10x NBA Scoring champion

3x NBA Steals leader

The GOAT, MJ, averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in his decorated NBA career spanning 15 seasons. And after all the awards and accolades, we can surely say that there never be another player like His Airness.
