Draymond Green was picked as the 35th overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2012 NBA Draft. Green fueled himself to success after remembering the names of all 34 players drafted before him. 

Green shared another interesting anecdote from the 2012 NBA Draft. Draymond revealed that general managers made him attend 21 draft workouts before ultimately getting selected in the second round. Draymond Green and Paul George had NSFW to the general smartness of NBA GMs.

“I had 21 workouts and I actually worked out in Indiana twice,” Green said on Podcast P.

“GMs ain’t the smartest m*****f*****s,” George responded.

Green concluded by saying, “No. Not at all. Most of them are pretty f*****g dumb.”

Being a general manager is not an easy task by any means. The job comes with a lot of pressure, and they are bound to make a few mistakes. Letting Green fall to the 35th spot is one of them.

Since being drafted, Draymond Green has contributed to four NBA Champions for the Golden State Warriors. He also won the 2016-17 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, among other accolades in his career.

For his career, Green has averaged 8.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 5.6 APG while shooting 44.9% from the field and 31.4% from the three-point line.

Green is coming off the heels of averaging 8.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.8 APG on 52.7% shooting from the field and 30.5% from downtown in the 2022-23 NBA season.
