Kevin Durant’s ‘Hall Of Fame’ Comments About Bradley Beal Have Resurfaced Amidst His Trade To The Suns

The Washington Wizards have committed to a full rebuild as they traded Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns. Beal will now be a part of the league’s newest superteam, with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker as his teammates.

It’s the fifth superteam of Durant’s career. Amidst Beal’s trade to the Suns, Durant’s old comments about Beal from December 2022 have resurfaced. KD was still a member of the Brooklyn Nets at that time and claimed Beal has the potential to become a Basketball Hall of Famer.

“He’s a Hall of Fame, All-Star player. To call him just a scorer is diminishing who he is,” Durant said of Beal. “You take that away from your team, you try to figure out where that presence is going to be, that impact is going to be felt from.”

Kevin Durant back in December called Bradley Beal a Hall of Fame player:

Durant praised Beal in light of the Nets winning 112-100 against the Wizards. In that game, Beal was sidelined and couldn’t help his team vs. the Nets. Durant finished the game with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Fast forward to June 2023, the two superstars are now teammates and will hope to lead the Phoenix Suns to the 2024 NBA Championship.

Bradley Beal Chose The Suns Over The Heat, Bucks, And Kings

Bradley Beal had complete control over his future due to the no-trade clause in his five-year $251 million contract with the Washington Wizards.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old shooting guard apparently used his no-trade clause to handpick his next destination in the NBA. According to a recent report, Beal rejected trade offers from the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Sacramento Kings to join the Phoenix Suns.

“Ultimately, Beal picked the Suns over multiple other trade scenarios, including Miami, Milwaukee, and Sacramento, sources said. The Wizards entered serious negotiations with the Suns and Heat on Saturday, as The Athletic reported, and that’s when the Bucks re-entered the picture. Milwaukee officials spoke with Beal on Saturday to pitch him on the Bucks, league sources said.”

Beal averaged 23.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 5.4 APG during the 2022-23 regular season. Considering Beal will most likely be the third scoring option for the team on most nights, fans should expect more or less the same scoring output from the three-time NBA All-Star.
