LeBron James and Dwyane Wade came together to form one of the greatest duos in NBA history. Despite only playing for four years together, the duo had incredible success, winning 2 NBA championships, and reaching four consecutive NBA Finals.

Their rapport on and off the court was great, with their iconic handshake becoming very popular. And now, that handshake has been referenced in one of the biggest movies of the year.

In ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’, the characters of Spider-Punk and Pavitr Prabhakar (Indian Spider-Man) recreate the iconic handshake between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Eagle-eyed fans caught this reference and one of the creators even confirmed that they were referencing the handshake.

‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ was littered with references to both the history of Spider-Man and various aspects of African-American and Puerto Rican culture. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are two of the most iconic athletes in American history and true examples of black excellence, so their handshake being referenced shouldn’t be too surprising.

LeBron James And Dwyane Wade Dominated The NBA

It wasn’t always rosy for LeBron and Wade, as Wade got heated with LeBron for his poor performances in the 2011 NBA Finals, something Wade recently admitted that he regrets. But their friendship and bond are still strong, and the two complimented each other very well.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were sensational playing together. During his stint in Miami, LeBron averaged 26.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists, winning multiple MVP trophies and championships. As for Wade, despite being a very talented player, he took a back seat to let LeBron become the main star in Miami.

Wade averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists when playing with LeBron James, putting on great performances as the second superstar on the team. Wade and LeBron enjoyed playing with each other. But Wade did not hold it against LeBron when he told him he was going to go back to Cleveland.
