The Sixers Are Favorites To Land Bradley Beal

The Washington Wizards veteran has been linked heavily to the Sixers ahead of the upcoming season.

Bradley Beal might become a Sixer this offseason. And speculating about the possible move and the why behind it was NBA analyst Bill Simmons.

On the latest episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, he discussed the idea of Beal requesting out of Washington to make a move to Philadelphia and play alongside Joel Embiid.

“My odds on favorite is Philadelphia and I don’t even think it’s close,” Simmons said. “Beal and Embiid, they’re friends. Embiid was trying to get him two years ago, which I kept telling people on this podcast. They ended up going with Harden instead, Embiid was pushing hard for Beal. Harden is going to leave. If you’re Philly and you are going to lose Harden and now I have this shooter, that’s probably a better fit with Embiid anyway.”

“If you’re Philly and you are going to lose Harden, and now I have this shooter, that’s probably a better fit with Embiid anyway,” Simmons explained. “And I have Tobias Harris on an expiring contract, a couple of future draft picks I could probably throw that I could probably find in my pocket somewhere.”

Simmons’ comments come on the back of the buzz. James Harden will possibly shift bases this summer and should that indeed happen, Beal can be the perfect replacement for the Sixers.

Beal inked a five-year, $251 million maximum contract with the Wizards in July 2022. The deal comes with a no-trade clause, so he can only be traded if he agrees to trade.

This season, he averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists. His playmaking and reliable production make him a seamless fit alongside Embiid. Only time will tell if Beal heads to Philly this offseason.

Proposed Trade Sends Bradley Beal To The Miami Heat

With the Wizards most likely to rebuild their roster ahead of the 2023-24 season, one of the proposed theories is Beal to the Heat.

Miami Heat Receive: Bradley Beal

Washington Wizards Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA)

This would be a win-win for both teams. While Miami will look to bolster their squad irrespective of how their NBA Finals ends, the Wizards will look to mark a player for the future. This surely is a possibility, but again, if Beal indeed asks out of Washington, there won’t be any dearth of suitors.
