Evidently, when the Heat lost the 2014 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, many enjoyed the moment. Speaking of the series, the Heat may have lost Game 1 of the series due to an electrical failure of the air conditioner at the AT&T Center.
“In Game 1, the Heat and the Spurs were in a dogfight heading into the fourth quarter. An AC malfunction at the AT&T Center caused temperatures to swell past 90 degrees, making it a physically tested environment for both teams. But LeBron suffered the most from it. With three minutes and 59 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the Heat trailing 94-92. The King exited the game in agony due to muscle cramps. The Spurs seized the opportunity with LeBron out, finishing Game 1 on a 16-3 run to protect home court. … The Heat weren’t thrilled about the situation, particularly LeBron, who claimed he lost a couple of days’ worth of fluids in that game.”
LeBron James’ departure allowed the Spurs to get an easy 110-95 victory. Despite sitting out the final four minutes of the game, LeBron recorded 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Although the Heat would win Game 2 of the series, the Spurs were too much to handle for the team. As the Tim Duncan-led team wrapped things up in five games.
LeBron averaged 28.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 4.0 APG, 2.0 SPG, and 0.4 BPG in the series. But the King was fighting a losing battle as his next best scorer was Dwyane Wade with 15.2 PPG.

LeBron James is a freak of nature. He is unarguably one of the most athletic players to ever play the game of basketball. But even James cannot avoid cramps when he gets dehydrated.
After being forced to exit from Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals, the King explained the level of pain he was feeling.
“It was the whole left leg, damn near the whole left side,” James said, per SBNation. “I was losing a lot throughout the game. It was extremely hot in the building, you know, both teams, fans, everybody could feel it. I was the one that had to take the shot.”
He added: “Drank a lot at halftime, even changed my uniform, just tried to get the sweat up off of you. Our training staff tried to do the best they could by giving us ice bags and cold towels on timeouts to keep us dry. It was an unusual circumstance. I never played in a building like that, it’s been a while, like a high school game or CYO, and everybody is sitting on top, and you feel good being in a building like that.”
It was undoubtedly one of the most painful experiences for LeBron James. Even a decade later, James must remember that pain.
