2020 NBA Champion Frank Vogel recently agreed to become the next head coach of the Phoenix Suns, where he’ll lead Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to new heights in the playoffs. While it’s Obviously good news for Phoenix, the move could have some big implications for the Lakers.
Since Vogel last coached for Los Angeles, there is a chance he could bring some of his former staff with him to Phoenix, including longtime Lakers assistant Phil Handy.

Handy would be a relatively minor loss for the Lakers, but he’s been a staple on the sidelines for them since taking the job in 2019, and it would be a blow if he left now.
After the team got so close to capturing another title this year, the Lakers were hoping to run it back with their group (players and coaches) to give everyone another chance to make a run.
This Is A Big Summer For The Lakers
The Lakers finally found some cohesion this postseason after struggling for months to avoid the play-in tournament. Now, more than ever, stability is important for the organization as they pivot toward building a contender for next year.
Besides some potential coaching changes, the Lakers will also have to consider a number of roster moves if they want to get better.

The bread and butter of the offense will be James’ downhill attacks and Davis’ interior dominance, but a better cast of shooters would open up the paint even more and create better shots as a consequence.”
