Jimmy Butler Guarantees The Heat Will Beat The Celtics In Game 6

Jimmy Butler knows that the Heat's best chance of winning the Eastern Conference Finals is in Game 6 at home.

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat looked like locks to make it to the NBA Finals after jumping out to a 3-0 series lead against the Boston Celtics.

Losses in Games 4 and 5 have concerned everyone about the Heat’s odds of actually seeing their advantage and making it to the Finals, given their status as an eighth seed. The Celtics are out-taunting them but Jimmy Butler is confident that they will bounce back and close the series out in Game 6 in Miami.

“We just got to play better, start the games off better. Make it more difficult for them, they’re in a rhythm since the beginning of the game but we’re always going to stay positive knowing that we can and we will win this series. We’ll just have to close it out at home.”

"We can and we will win this series."

Butler had a disappointing performance, scoring just 14 points in Game 5 and taking just 10 shots. He was extremely passive as the Celtics led a team effort with four 20-point scorers to just bury the Heat under an offensive barrage. Maybe if Tyler Herro is closer to returning, the Heat could use his offensive production to take Game 6 and face the Nuggets in the Finals.

A Historic Outcome Is On Our Hands Either Way

Neutral fans should be loving this series, as either team winning will guarantee history being made. If the Heat win, they become the only team in NBA history to make it to the NBA Finals as an eighth seed in an 82-game season. The 1999 Knicks achieved this in a lockout-shortened season, so the Heat can carve their own notch in history.

If the Celtics win, they become the first team in NBA history regardless of round, to overcome a 3-0 series deficit. With Jayson Tatum already being elevated to the status of a future all-time great, this comeback will be an incredible accomplishment for him, Joe Mazzulla, and the entire Celtics roster.
