The Boston Celtics pulled off a strong Game 5 win over the Miami Heat to continue brewing their 3-0 comeback, with Grant Williams playing a strong defensive role in this win.

Williams was giving an interview where he was talking about the importance of winning Game 6 and bringing the series back to Boston for Game 7. As he was talking, Jaylen Brown first crossed him and spanked him. Less than a second later, Al Horford does the same, forcing Williams to crack a smile and say ‘ouch.’

Even though he ended Game 5 with just 6 points and 4 rebounds, Williams injected energy into the Celtics lineup and did a solid defensive job in helping his team restrict Miami to 97 points. Given what Draymond Green said about Williams’ relationship with Jaylen Brown, it’s gotta be looking pretty strong after this interaction.

The Celtics On The Verge Of History

It seemed that Boston’s season was going to end in disaster after they went down 3-0 with a brutal Game 3 blowout loss. Their comeback seemed improbably given how bad that loss was, something that prompted coach Joe Mazzulla to openly say he’s lost the locker room. But this Celtics group is already battle-tested and has kept fighting to show why they’re the better team in this series.

We see 3-2 comebacks in basketball quite often, including what the Celtics did against the 76ers and also against the Heat last season. They do not wilt under pressure, which means Jimmy Butler needs to rise in Game 6 and deliver on the guaranteed win he has already promised fans. If not, we’re going to see his legacy as a playoff performer be completely eviscerated.
