“But you know, we made the plans when we needed them,” Embiid continued. “P.J., a big and-one offensive rebound. Obviously, the James shot. They made a lot of tough shots all night. I thought we stuck with it. But that’s been us all season long. Just sticking together, fighting through anything — being down five with two minutes left — that’s huge for us. We know we didn’t play our best. And I was terrible tonight. I gotta be better. And I will be better.”
There’s no doubt that the Philadelphia 76ers need Joel Embiid to be consistently dominant if they are to get past the Boston Celtics. There are few players in the world that can guard him one-on-one, and we’ll see if he can dominate in Game 5.
Joel Embiid has put up 23.2 PPG, 10.5 RPG, and 2.7 BPG for the Philadelphia 76ers in the postseason. Though he looked more like his MVP self in Game 4, he’ll need to be even better down the stretch to have a chance of winning the championship.
Joel Embiid’s Injury Is Supposed To Keep Him Out For 4-6 Weeks
As of right now, Joel Embiid is playing through a serious injury, and it is impressive that he can even be on the court. In fact, he previously claimed that he was supposed to be out for 4-6 weeks with his current injury.
“With what I have, I’m supposed to be out 4-6 weeks…got this out of the way,” Embiid said. “Disappointed by the loss, but that’s a step toward getting back to myself. I think I’ll be fine. I’ve played through a lot,” Embiid said. “We’ve got a big chance, and we’ve got to take advantage of it.”
Hopefully, we don’t see Joel Embiid aggravate his injury further. Though it is commendable that he is playing at all, he needs to ensure that he remains available for the team for the rest of the playoffs as well.
