Kyrie Irving’s offseason started a lot sooner than he’d have liked after the Dallas Mavericks failed to make the playoffs. It would appear Irving really wanted a taste of postseason basketball, as he is sitting courtside for Game 6 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies.

It is a move that is certainly raising a lot of eyebrows and he also dapped up LeBron James before the game. NBA fans reacted to the former teammates embracing each other here.

A fan is now certain that Irving will join the Lakers next season.

He wasn’t the only one, as a fan believes this is a Laker and a future Laker showing love to each other.

A fan hilariously stated D’Angelo Russell will now play like Michael Jordan to avoid being traded for Irving.

A fan roasted Irving for missing some of his own team’s games but showing up for this one.

Kyrie the type to not show up to his own team’s games, but show up to Lebron’s game 💀😭

There has already been plenty of speculation on Irving potentially ending up on the Lakers and this just adds fuel to that fire. The fact that he chose to attend this game, in particular, can hardly be a coincidence, although he is sure to claim that it has no additional meaning to it.

While Irving played well for the Mavericks after being traded there by the Brooklyn Nets, team success eluded them. Kyrie averaged 27.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.0 APG, and 1.3 SPG as a Maverick but they were just 8-12 in the 20 games he featured in. Mavs GM Nico Harrison was confident they would re-sign him, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Irving decides not to, considering how badly the season ended.

An NBA GM Predicted Kyrie Irving Would Join The Lakers

Irving could have ended up on the Lakers this season itself, but the Nets reportedly did not want to trade him to his preferred destination. It appears as if they only delayed the move by a few months and an NBA GM is predicting that Kyrie will join the Lakers this summer.

Former NBA player Matt Barnes also believes the Lakers will find a way to sign Irving, as he claims that if the Lakers want someone, then they will get him. This would be a hammer blow for the Mavericks but it was a risk they were willing to take when they acquired him earlier this season.
