The Los Angeles Lakers made some excellent moves at the trade deadline in 2023, and their revamped roster is locked in a playoff battle against the Memphis Grizzlies. The team has been great toward the business end of the season, but that doesn’t mean they can’t improve after it ends.

Draymond Green is one of the names consistently linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. There has been chatter that the Golden State Warriors won’t give Draymond the contract he is seeking and that he could move on from the franchise. And according to the latest reports, the Lakers would like to get him.

According to one source, the Lakers view Green as a ‘dream offseason target,'” Evan Massey wrote for the NBA Analysis Network. “Green could end up hitting the open free agency market this offseason. He has a player option and could opt to test the market.”

Draymond Green is in some hot water over his conduct in Game 2 of the Warriors vs. Kings series, but his qualities as a player cannot be denied. Green is a DPOY-level defender, and his playmaking and leadership abilities also impact winning at the highest level. That’s not all there is to it either, Draymond’s relationship with LeBron James has also had a huge influence on these rumors.

Draymond Green Shares A Great Relationship With LeBron James And Anthony Davis

Draymond Green seems to believe in the Los Angeles Lakers and their current roster quite a bit. Before the playoffs began, he backed them to beat the Memphis Grizzlies and even called them a serious threat in the Western Conference. While the Lakers might not have the cap space to sign Green to a contract he wants in free agency, a sign-and-trade could be a possibility moving forward.

What’s more, his relationship with LeBron James seems to be great too, it’s what has fueled a lot of speculation about the Lakers. Draymond has routinely praised James and spoken well of him, and the two have been seen talking and partying together at different points as well.

Anthony Davis, who is also signed to Klutch Sports along with LeBron James and Draymond Green, reportedly tried to recruit Draymond Green recently too. If the stars of the Lakers want it to happen, it’s easy to see the franchise finding a way to get it done. It would add another dimension to the Lakers, and our writer Eddie Bitar wrote about how the Lakers can create the perfect starting lineup with Draymond Green this summer.
