Ja Morant’s return to the Memphis Grizzlies has sent fans into a frenzy of happiness. Morant returned to play basketball for the first time since March 03, 2023.

He was serving a suspension due to his recent controversial behavior. In his return, Ja helped the Grizzlies register an easy 130-125 victory over the Houston Rockets. Following the game, Morant gave the postgame interview with his daughter, Kaari Morant. The father-duo daughter’s reaction to Morant’s return has now gone viral on the internet.

Like father, like daughter. Prior to the beginning of the game against the Rockets, Morant was recorded in the tunnel shouting, ‘It’s a parade inside my city, yeah!’

The crowd was oozing to see Morant return to the court, and the wish was finally fulfilled. Although Morant came off the bench, he still impacted the game by recording 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Ja Morant Shared His Views On Coming Off The Bench

Ja Morant is a phenomenal player and already a superstar in the NBA. Evidently, Morant is used to starting every game that he plays for the Grizzlies.

But in order to not disrupt the momentum of the Grizzlies, Ja played off the bench against the Rockets. It was a different feeling for the superstar, and he shared his views on it.

“I suggested it because you know how well they have been playing while I was away. I didn’t want to come back and mess with any of that obvious chemistry. I was watching the film closer to the time of my getting back, and it’s all about getting back into the flow and getting comfortable. Once my number was called, I go in and played the same way. So nothing really changed. The advantage we have is that we have two starting point guards, and it doesn’t necessarily matter who starts and who doesn’t.”

Winning games is much more important than individual success to Ja. He proved that by coming off the bench against the Rockets. It will be exciting to see whether he will continue to lead the second unit for a couple of more games or get back to his starting role from the very next game.
