Everyone has something to say about Ja Morant and the way he has been behaving lately. The Memphis Grizzlies star has been called out by many for his actions involving threats and guns.
Ja Morant has gotten a bit of a pass by people saying that he is influenced by those around him. But Bomani Jones recently pointed out that the responsibility for every incident falls squarely on Ja.
i'll also say here what i said on #TheRightTime: ppl need to keep saying ja needs to stop hanging with the wrong people. in every one of these stories, *he's* been the wrong person. *he's* the one with the gun. *he's* the one making threats. this is all about *him.*

“Ppl need to keep saying Ja needs to stop hanging with the wrong people,” Bomani Jones wrote. “In every one of these stories, *he’s* been the wrong person. *he’s* the one with the gun. *he’s* the one making threats. this is all about *him.*”
It’s hard to argue with this point, Ja Morant has rarely ever seemed apologetic for the things he’s said and done before the recent controversy. Even after the reports came out regarding threats he made to mall security and a 17-year-old, he was defiant with the things he posted on social media.
The company matters a lot in terms of the way people behave, but ultimately, the responsibility for any individual’s actions falls squarely on them. Ja Morant’s friends were spoken about a lot in the aftermath of the incident involving lasers being pointed at members of the Indiana Pacers, but he remains the one with the most to lose in this situation.
Ja Morant’s Inner Circle Reportedly Aimed A Red Laser At Members Of The Indiana Pacers
The conversations around who Ja Morant is hanging with and around took off a lot more after the laser incident involving the Pacers. The Athletic reported the behavior of Morant’s acquaintances with Ja apparently in the car while they were behaving the way they did.
“Following a game between the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 29 in Memphis, acquaintances of Grizzlies star Ja Morant aggressively confronted members of the Pacers traveling party near the team’s bus in the loading area of FedExForum, and later someone in a slow-moving SUV — which Morant was riding in — trained a red laser on them.”
Things have gotten pretty intense for Ja Morant off the court, which is a shame. He has averaged 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists on the Memphis Grizzlies, who are the 2nd seed in the Western Conference. If anything, the conversations around him at this time should have been about MVP consideration. Unfortunately, he has a lot of other work to do before any of those can happen in the future.
