Veteran Patrick Beverley is perhaps one of the best players on the buyout market, and the former Los Angeles Lakers guard teased that he wanted to suit up for the Golden State Warriors.
Beverley didn’t have a great run with the Lakers despite starting a major chunk of games. He averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists — his lowest numbers since the 2012-13 season. But he does still have the defensive prowess that he was always known for, plus his legitimate locker-room leadership qualities.
Beverley was traded to the Orlando Magic for Mo Bamba, who was picked 6th in the 2018 NBA draft. However, the former was waived by the side just days after acquiring him.
On Thursday, the 34-year-old interacted with fans on Twitter and shared his two cents on joining his old team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Also, up for consideration were the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers, and Golden State Warriors.
While speaking about the Warriors, Beverley liked the idea of playing alongside the team’s defensive powerhouse, Draymond Green.

For now, Beverley’s future remains uncertain. And safe to say, he would be a great fit with the Warriors, adding more teeth to their defense as they stake their claim for a playoff berth. The younger and rebuilding teams in the league could use a man like Beverley.
The Warriors are a far cry from the consistent unit that they were last year. They are placed seventh in the Western Conference standings with a 29-29 record, and only time will tell if they can steadily climb the rungs as the regular season comes to an end.
