Michael Jordan’s journey in the NBA was nothing short of amazing. Throughout his career, Jordan impacted the league with his elite ability to play the game of basketball. As a result, by the end of his career, Jordan had established himself as arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.

But Jordan’s impact wasn’t limited to the court. In fact, if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan, the NBA may have never been as popular as it is today. Additionally, Michael’s impact on getting endorsements is something that can probably never be recreated.

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley once claimed that Jordan is the GOAT for him because of how he helped other NBA stars get brand endorsements and sneaker deals. With that being said, Jordan’s partnership with Nike has certainly played a crucial role in it.

The Story Of How Nike Signed Michael Jordan Turns Into A Movie

Last year it was announced that Hollywood stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will write and star in a movie about how Nike signed Michael Jordan. Well, the movie will be titled “AIR,” and recently, the first trailer of the much-anticipated film was unveiled.

NBA fans tend to love each and everything related to the Chicago Bulls legend. But with the announcement of the trailer right around the time when LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time scoring leader, it seemed fishy to most fans.

Good lord. A movie about pursuing the GOAT before he became the GOAT?

Debate over.

LMAOOOO MJ IS SO INSECURE DAWG. It’s SO obvious at this point. Bron wins the 2016 Finals = The Last Dance gets announced. Bron wins the 2020 Finals = The Last Dance drops. Bron becomes the All-Time Leading Scorer = MJ puts out a movie about him & Nike.

You can’t make this up. 🤣

A movie about a shoe deal doesn't really sound that appealing to me lol. Would probably be better as a documentary?

— Bash (@Bashbeeshoo) February 10, 2023

Mj is the most insecure athlete of all time 😭

did a really good job of not showing mj in this trailer

While a few fans seemed genuinely interested in watching the movie, most pointed out that the timing of the trailer is simply too big of a coincidence. Whether that’s true or not is something that is up for debate. At the end of the day, a movie about signing a shoe deal seems a bit of a stretch.

However, Mike has played a crucial role in the success of Nike and what the brand has become today. So the film could actually do wonders if it is written well and the star cast doesn’t mess up.
