The presence of Anthony Davis on the roster cannot be understated for the Los Angles Lakers. Prior to getting injured, Davis was having an MVP-like season and impressed everyone with his amazing ability to carry the team on his back.

Looking at his early season performances, many expected Anthony Davis to indeed be the deciding factor for the Purple and Gold this season. Speaking of his return from the injury, he once again proved his worth during the Lakers’ recent matchup against the New York Knicks.

Although LeBron James was the star of the show, AD quietly recorded 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist during the 129-123 victory for the Purple and Gold.

Anthony Davis On His Return From Injury

Returning from an injury and playing at an elite level is never easy for an NBA superstar, and Anthony Davis, of all players, knows that better than anyone. The Lakers’ matchup against the Knicks was Davis’ third game back from injury.

Following a good performance, he was asked about his thoughts on his return to the team and how he is feeling as of now.

“I feel good. It will always take time. I was out five and a half weeks. Even though I played well, I’m starting to get my rhythm back, it’ll still get some time to get back to where I wanna be, where I was. As long as we keep winning, none of that matters how I’m playing. It’s all about wins right now. Especially we’re trying to move up to the rankings.”

It is certainly good news that Davis is feeling good. But as mentioned, it will take a few games before he is back at his sparkling best. As for the Lakers’ ranking right now, they have now improved their record to 24-28, but are still in the 13th spot in the Western Conference points table.
