Before he went down with an injury, Kevin Durant was in the midst of another incredible season. He had led a spectacular turnaround for the Brooklyn Nets and despite being 34 years old, found himself in the MVP conversation.
That is quite impressive from someone in their 15th season in the NBA, especially when you consider he had that Achilles tear in 2019, but even Durant’s longevity pales in comparison to that of LeBron James. In his 20th season in the league, LeBron is averaging 30.2 PPG, 8.5 RPG, and 7.1 APG while shooting 50.7% from the field. Those are remarkable numbers for someone at this stage of their career and Durant was full of praise for his great rival on the ETCs podcast.

LeBron has had to adapt as time has gone on and his willingness to work on different facets of his game is what has helped him continue to be a dominant force in the league. Durant also stated recently that LeBron is setting the bar for what an athlete wants to be and it is great to see just how much respect KD has for him.
Kevin Durant Spoke On What Has Gone Wrong With The Dunk Contest
Durant spoke on quite a few topics during this episode and one of them was the Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star weekend. At one point in time, it used to arguably be the highlight of the weekend, but interest in it has gone down quite a bit over the years.
KD stated that he thinks the stars need to come back for the dunk contest to regain its past glory and he is right. We just don’t see the big names there anymore and KD wants the likes of Ja Morant and Zion Williamson to take part. There is no doubt that a lot of people would tune in if those two were involved but it doesn’t seem like they are interested.
