Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in NBA history, well-known for his pass-first playstyle and midrange ability. Even though he is in the latter stages of his career, Chris Paul is still a solid player and is currently averaging 14.3 PPG and 8.7 APG for the Phoenix Suns while shooting 40.5% from the 3PT range.

Even though he is a good player, it seems as though there is some speculation in the league that Chris Paul might get moved in the future. A recent report from Matt Moore of Action Network revealed that executives around the NBA are “keeping a side eye” on Chris Paul’s situation in case the Suns decide to focus on moving him to sustain a core around Devin Booker.

Again, zero known interest from the Suns in trading CP3, but other executives are keeping a side eye on that situation in the event that Phoenix — with new ownership reportedly set to be in place soon — decides to focus on sustaining a core around Devin Booker.

It will be interesting to see if Chris Paul does end up being moved in the future. He is definitely heading toward the end of his career, and perhaps it would be wise to see what options are out there from the Phoenix Suns’ perspective. However, keeping him could also be a good move based on his playoff experience and leadership.

The Phoenix Suns Have Already Identified Potential Replacements For Chris Paul

Amidst the speculation about Chris Paul, it seems as though the team has already identified some replacements for the point guard if they were to part ways with him in the future.

Word is that those realities have prompted the Suns to start assessing their post-Paul future and thus identify Charlotte’s Terry Rozier, New York’s Immanuel Quickley and Toronto’s Fred VanVleet as potential trade targets

It remains to be seen if the Phoenix Suns will be able to acquire any of those players as Chris Paul’s replacements. There have already been rumors about Immanuel Quickley potentially being moved by the New York Knicks, and he would certainly be a younger player that can be good for a long time.

Hopefully, we see the Phoenix Suns win a championship in the future, whether it is with Chris Paul or otherwise. They definitely have a lot of talent, and we’ll see what happens in the coming seasons.
