This NBA season has been absolutely unprecedented. With teams constantly shooting up and down the standings, heightened league-wide parity, and individual scoring explosions we haven’t seen since the days of Wilt Chamberlain, the NBA is in a state of chaos as the All-Star break approaches.

Yet, somehow, through it all, the Denver Nuggets have come out of it looking like the best team in the West.

With a 26-13 record so far this season, Denver is poised to finish with one of the top records in basketball and Jokic is on track to win his third straight MVP.

According to Michael Porter Jr., though, The Joker is so good he could see him taking home the next five MVPs.

“I think Nikola could probably win the next five MVPs. Hopefully the voters don’t get tired of giving it to, who I think is, the best player in the world.”

Regardless of your feeling toward the Nuggets, you have to recognize what Jokic is doing right now. Through 36 games this season, Jokic is averaging 25.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game on 61% shooting for a Denver squad that has the best record in the West.

Can The Joker Lead The Nuggets To A Championship?

Jokic may be the MVP favorite so far, but the only thing on his mind is winning games. Fortunately for him, the Nuggets are doing well this season — but it remains to be seen how far they can go in the playoffs.

After making a statement against the impressive Cleveland Cavaliers, beating them 121-108, the Joker was asked about his team’s chances to win it all this campaign. He kept it real and admitted that they’re in a good position now, but there’s something that will be key for their championship aspirations.

“Yes. Probably, yes. But, you never know. I think consistency is the word,” said Jokic and what his team must to to win a championship. “When you’re consistent, hopefully you can make something happen.”

Even after several years of this, Jokic continues to break the game of basketball. As he finds new ways to dominate his opponents and make his teammate better, the Nuggets continue to thrive off the opportunities he creates for them.

Don’t look now, but the Nuggets may finally have everything together and they are showing us who they can be when healthy and at the top of their game.
