The Denver Nuggets are having a really sweet moment in the 2022-23 NBA season. This team is working silently, keeping a low profile and letting their game do the talk, which has taken them to the top of the Western Conference standings, led by the defending back-to-back MVP, Nikola Jokic.

Jokic, who is once again showing why he’s won this award in the last two seasons, knows they have something good going on in Denver, but they need much more than that to go all the way to the Finals and win the championship.

The Nuggets made interesting moves in the offseason and welcomed back Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., looking like serious candidates to win it all this season. However, Jokic doesn’t want to get ahead of himself and recently explained what they need to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy.

After making a statement against the impressive Cleveland Cavaliers, beating them 121-108, the Joker was asked about his team’s chances to win it all this campaign. He kept it real and admitted that they’re in a good position now, but there’s something that will be key for their championship aspirations.

“Yes. Probably, yes. But, you never know. I think consistency is the word…when you’re consistent, hopefully you can make something happen.”

The Nuggets are doing impressive things this season, and Jokic is helping them sit atop the standings in the West. They have a really good case to win it all this campaign, and even Charles Barkley named them the favorites to finish the season with the best record in the conference.

Once the playoffs start, the story is different, but right now, the Nuggets look like a very solid team and a hard one to beat. With Jokic playing at this level, and if Murray recovers his best version, they will have a good chance to go through the West and fight for the NBA championship.
