There was a time when Duncan Robinson was an integral part of the Miami Heat, but those days are long gone now. He is the forgotten man of sorts, as he plays a bit part role and his name mostly comes up when there is talk of the Heat including him in trade packages.

The biggest problem with Robinson is his deficiencies on the defensive end, which make him almost unplayable in certain situations, and we saw that in the playoffs last season. His three-point shooting, which was and is by far his biggest strength, has dipped a bit as well, which has made matters worse. Still, he was so good at draining threes earlier on in his career that in the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he became the fastest player in NBA history to make 800 three-pointers, as he did it in just 263 games.

He is actually the fastest to a lot of these three-pointer milestones, which is quite impressive, and he is also closing in on the franchise record for threes held by Tim Hardaway Sr.

In case you were wondering who held the record before Robinson, that would be Luka Doncic, who took 288 games, while Stephen Curry now drops to 5th quickest in this list, as he had taken 305 games. Despite this feat, it is clear that the Heat are more than willing to part ways with Robinson as they look for a spark to ignite their season.

The Miami Heat Have Been Touted As A Landing Spot For Trae Young

The biggest problem for the Heat right now is that their offense is a hot mess. The Heat rank in the bottom 5 for offensive rating at 109.8, and you won’t get too far with that bad of an offense. They clearly need an upgrade, and with rumors of Trae Young requesting a trade after this season, the Heat might go for him.

An NBA analyst thinks they would be a great landing spot for Young, as he believes that Trae and Bam Adebayo can prove to be a great pairing. The Heat also have enough defenders to cover for Trae’s deficiencies on defense, and they’ll be fine with doing it, too, if Young gets them over 20 points and 10 assists every night.
