The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams expected to make some big moves during the trade window, and some fans believe the front office will land Kyrie Irving.

The Brooklyn Nets star is one of the names part of the Lakers’ list this season alongside DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, and Doug McDermott.

Acquiring any of these names would mean trading Russell Westbrook and their future picks. With the team gunning for a championship, adding at least two of the above names makes the Lakers instant title contenders.

There have already been reports linking the Lakers to all the aforementioned names. The think tank has reportedly been in discussions with the Chicago Bulls for DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, while Turner and Hield have been on their radar since the start of the offseason. Kuzma and McDermott have been floated around as potential additions.

NBA Fans Believe Kyrie Irving Is On His Way To Los Angeles

Kyrie Irving was one of the players expected to be pursued by the Lakers. It did make sense, given his prolific shooting and his chemistry with LeBron James, who he played with when the duo was part of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The point guard has had a rather controversial season. He was suspended by the Nets after promoting an antisemitic movie on Twitter and went on to miss a sizeable eight games. Prior to this furor, he generated headlines for his COVID-19 vaccination stance.

But there was still hope from fans that Irving would become a Laker, while one segment took shots at Rob Pelinka.

In addition to the players listed, the Lakers were also reported to have made a beeline for Cam Reddish, Evan Fournier, and Derrick Rose. They do have three options that they will exercise before the trade deadline.

Much of the trade developments happen by mid-January, and that’s enough time for Pelinka to see how he rejigs the present roster. Safe to say, the Lakers fans wouldn’t mind any of the reported targets.
