Ben Simmons appears to be finding his rhythm this 2022-23 NBA season, as he’s looking better and better with the Brooklyn Nets. After a tumultuous start to the season that included fouling out of games a couple of times, being accused of enjoying leaving the court for foul troubles, and more, the player is now looking good.

Before he left the squad, Steve Nash said we needed to give Simmons 20 games to reach his best level. Those words are resonating now, as Simmons has posted interesting numbers in his last two games. First, he scored double digits for the first time in over 500 days.

He was on a tear against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, too, even posting a big message on Instagram after showing that he still got it against Damian Lillard and co.

Kevin Durant Is Happy After Ben Simmons’ Clutch Performance

Simmons made several free throws in the 4th quarter of this game, helping his team hold their advantage against the Trail Blazers, ultimately winning the game, 109-107, at Moda Center. Simmons played a crucial role in that win and everybody praised him for that.

Following the game, Kevin Durant jumped on that train, saying nothing but good things about his teammate, who was heavily criticized at the start of the campaign.

"Crunch time like that… that was key for us we needed those."

“I felt super confident when he went up there,” Durant said. “3-for-4, crunch time like that, that was key for us, we needed those. … He shot them like he’s confident and he ran back down court like he knew it was going in.”

This is great news for the Nets. They are on the verge of getting Kyrie Irving back after his suspension; they have a new head coach that has won the players over, Kevin Durant playing at a great level and now Simmons returning to his best form. This could be a good season for the Nets from now on, but they need to be careful about anything if they want to succeed.
