The Golden State Warriors proved a lot of people wrong when they won their 4th NBA championship of this era last season. Many media members and analysts had written the team off after two poor years for the Dubs, something that made their eventual victory that much sweeter. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are certified legends, and all of them thoroughly enjoyed the aftermath of their latest brilliant achievement.
Draymond had some words for the haters after they won, even the normally reserved Steph Curry called his doubters out. And with the new season now less than a month away, the Warriors are preparing to try and do it all over again. Green’s contract extension remains a doubt, but his dedication to the team isn’t in question, even Klay Thompson has explained how Draymond is integral to the team’s leadership.
Draymond Green Told Golden State’s Doubters To Shut Up
The Warriors have a core and, for now, have only lost some rotational pieces from their roster. They’ve added role players over the offseason too, and there is no reason they cannot win another championship next season. However, critics will always remain critics, so there’s still a lot of noise about their chances. But Draymond is having none of it this time, and he’s told the doubters to shut up before the season even begins.

“I don’t think it’s the same chip. I’d be lying to you if I told you it was, but there are chips! There are chips, there are no shortage of chips, I can tell you that. It may not be quite, ‘Oh man, people don’t think we can do it again.’ That opinion is far from relevant as it can possibly be. Whoever has that opinion should probably just shut up because it’s just not a bright one. However, there are chips, they’re good ones!”
Anyone writing the Warriors off at this point is potentially setting themselves up for quite a bit of ridicule. The Dubs have proven time and again that when their stars are healthy, there aren’t many that can stand in their way. And with the Western Conference perhaps not as stacked as it has been in past seasons, they have every opportunity to make it happen.
Green, now a member of the media as well as an NBA star, generally has a lot to say in situations like this. And if there are those still willing to doubt the Warriors after everything this core has achieved together, then you best believe Draymond is keeping tabs on who they are.
