LeBron James may be the world’s best basketball player, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the time to follow other sports as well.

In fact, James is frequently caught attending football games in the NFL and college, with fandoms stretching across various franchises.

Most recently, it seems that James was spending his Saturday thinking about some college football. As a native of Ohio, he follows Ohio state pretty closely and has clearly heard about all the injuries they have suffered recently.

LeBron James Offers His Services To Ohio State Amid Pileup Of Injuries

So, ahead of Ohio’s Big 10 opener against Wisconsin on Saturday, LeBron lamented the state of his club and jokingly offered his services amid their injury woes.

Do I have college eligibility if I went to play another sport besides basketball? How does that rule work?

As a man of many interests, James seems to enjoy all sorts of different sports — but football may be right up there with basketball for him, and he obviously has a passion for it.

In fact, James once even revealed that he had an offer to play in the NFL during one of the NBA’s lockout seasons earlier in his career.

As it turns out, LeBron James has actually gotten offers from NFL teams in the past, even when he was already an NBA player. During an appearance on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” with Peyton and Eli Manning, James revealed that he has actually gotten contract offers from the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. Those came during the NBA’s 2011 lockout.

“That’s true,” James said. “Jerry Jones offered me a contract, also Pete Carroll did as well in Seattle, during our lockout time. It definitely got my blood flowing again, it got my mind racing again thinking about the game of football, being out there on Sunday. You know, we was able to get a deal done in the NBA, and I was back on the court in no time. But I definitely thought about it. I still got the jersey too, that Jerry and Pete Carroll sent me from 2011.”

It might sound ridiculous at first, but it’s not crazy to say that James might succeed in the NFL. He’s such an incredible athlete that he would likely hold his own against the best football players in the world.

Still, it’s pretty clear he made the right choice in the end. Basketball is what he does best, and it’s what has made him all this money. In the meantime, he’ll just have to stick to watching the Buckeyes to get his football fix in.
